Your First Visit

Your first visit to Peak Physique Ballarat will be warm and welcoming. Classes open 10 minutes prior (early morning classes) and 15 minutes minutes prior (day and night classes), with the studio closing 10 minutes after all classes. If you don’t have your own yoga mat, it’s best to arrive early to purchase one. We recommend that you wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing which allows your body to move and breathe freely. If you have a pre-existing medical condition or any concerns about the class, please make sure you speak with the teaching staff.

IT’S MY FIRST CLASS – WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

You should first view the Ballarat timetable, and decide what class you would like to do. You then have the option of purchasing an upfront pass or package online. We offer a ‘One Night Stand Pass’ for those wanting casual once off visits. You can also purchase a pass at class on arrival.

Please arrive 20 minutes before the class starts so we can get you registered.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR THE CLASS?

You should wear light, comfortable clothing- similar to what you would wear to the gym. Please bring with you a Yoga Mat, Large Towel to cover your mat and a Large Drink Bottle. You may also hire a mat for $2, or you may purchase a yoga mat and non-slip Yoga Towel in the Studio.

We recommend no eating prior to class at least 2 to 3 hours before hand, if you need something to snack on just something light such as fruit. Hydration is important so make sure you drink plenty of water. Most importantly you will need to bring an open mind and be ready to transform your life!

DO YOU SELL YOGA MATS AND NON-SLIP YOGA TOWELS?

WHAT IF I AM NOT FLEXIBLE?

Yoga is an individual experience designed to help YOU become stronger and more flexible. Everyone starts from a different place so begin from wherever you are, and that is perfect!

WILL THE CLASSES HELP ME GET INTO SHAPE?

The classes are of a fitness-orientated yoga and require strength and balance. This means you will be using all of your major muscle groups to perform the poses. The dynamic nature of the classes combined with the heat will also help to stimulate your circulation. Many people find that they do become stronger and more toned through a consistent yoga practice. We recommend minimum 3 classes each week to see weight loss results.

WHY IS THE ROOM HEATED?

Our specialised infra-red heating systems are the same products used by the medical industry to assist with the following; muscle repair, increased blood flow, flushing toxins from the body, speeding up the process of digestion, regeneration of cells, and increased flexibility. Our hot yoga classes allow your lymphatic system to move toxins out of the body more efficiently. Not to mention it tightens our skin, improves complexion, assists with weight loss and most importantly challenges the mind to give mental clarity and calmness.

HOW HOT IS THE ROOM?

For our Hot Yoga classes we heat the room to 38° and 26° for Warm Variation classes.

I HAVE NEVER DONE YOGA BEFORE?

All of our classes are beginner friendly so you can feel comfortable coming to any class. We recommend Hot 26 or Warm Variation as a beginner and as you become a life long family member we welcome you to the challenges of our Hot Vinyasa and Hot Blend classes.

IS THERE A MINIMUM AGE TO PRACTICE AT PEAK PHYSIQUE?

Yes, we ask that all our students are at least 16 years old. If you are under 16 years old you will need to be accompanied by a Guardian.

WHAT IF I HAVE AN INJURY?

Your teachers have experience teaching students with injuries and will be able to offer appropriate modifications. It is in your best interests to make your teacher aware of any problems you may have before class so they can help you as much as possible. We will add this information into your profile at Peak Physique so other teachers are aware.

CAN YOU HELP ME TRY MORE CHALLENGING POSES?

Our teachers are very experienced and can assist you with taking things to the next level, when you are ready. Please let your teachers know if you would like to learn some new challenging poses.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I COME?

Consistency is the key. At least three times a week is the best way to enjoy the positive effects of your yoga practice. Every little bit counts so fitting in a regular class into your weekly schedule is beneficial.
